Stepping into the room amongst the Christchurch Antarctic Society, before me a sea of collective passion for one icy continent. The individual narratives wove through another creating a fabric that wraps itself tight around the preservation and protection of the Antarctic. Passed down the table was this book. Shackleton’s Argonauts, inside the front cover, penned by Frank Hurley himself a tribute to the importance of acknowledging those who create the footsteps in the snow so we can follow a path with less resistance.
